Marie
Joel Turgeon shows
the multiplicity of clay by using all of it’s varieties of
colours and textures. The way I use clay in my ceramic quilts as
well as in my pears or my hearts, allows me a unique freedom of
creation. Useful or decorative, my creations evoke all at once the
lines of contemporary architecture.
Numerous processes
are useful in my creations. Even by the throwing or the fabrication
of the slates. I use clay as a way of expression. I make my pieces
unique through the use of ten different kinds of clay in different
amounts that I then colour with pigments and oxides. After texturing
my pieces, I plunge them in a glaze, rub them with oxide or leave
them in a natural state.
