Marianne
Fisher was born in The Hague, Netherlands and immigrated
to B.C. at age five. She has since lived in many parts of Canada,
but principally in Southwestern Ontario. She has been playing with
clay for 35 years, professionally for 15.
Marianne
uses childhood memories, travel, reading, and family experiences
to rekindle the “wonder” that she sees in the eyes of
children discovering the world.
The
pieces are hand-built using slab and coil techniques. Drawings are
then incised onto the surface of the clay, and the surface is finished
using layered coloured glazes
fired in the electric kiln.
